Micah Center

Connecting People with Purpose

The Micah Center is a daytime resource center for adult men and women currently experiencing homelessness or at-risk for homelessness in the Green Bay community. The Micah Center combines a compassionate drop-in feel with internal and external support to ensure that each guest is supported in their journey towards self-sufficiency.

Life-Saving Mission

Supporting a person in their journey to self-sufficiency is the goal of both of our year-round daytime resource centers (Micah Center and Wellspring). Regardless of where they reside at night, individuals have access to support and resources designed to eliminate barriers and ensure they have the tools necessary to move towards their self-sufficiency goals.

Services Available at the Micah Center

The Micah Center is staffed with 4 full-time Case Managers and a Peer Support Specialist who provide advocacy and support. Each guest staying at the shelter is required to meet with their assigned Case Manager to assess his or her needs/barriers and then create goals to meet those needs. Although the ultimate goal is to obtain housing, smaller goals are sometimes set prior to focusing on this. For example, if an individual does not currently have income, employment options may need to be explored prior to seeking housing options. In addition, referrals to community resources may occur at this time to assist.

Our computer lab allows visitors an opportunity to learn basic computer skills, create employment materials, apply for jobs, write papers for school and search for housing. Printing is available.

The Micah Center believes in creating a compassionate environment where all can come and find a sense of belonging. Combining resources with a drop-in center feel, the Micah Center aims to meet individuals right where they’re at and provide all of the resources and support to assist in their transition to self-sufficiency.

The Micah Center hosts several community partners on-site each month offering an array of services focused on physical wellbeing, mental health, dental services, hygiene services, AODA counseling, housing and much more. Contact a case manager for more information.

Men can utilize the Micah Center address to receive mail if they do not have a permanent address. Women should visit Wellspring to setup mail services.
