Before coming to St. John’s Ministries, Sarah Tomac spent 16 years in the early childhood education field, earning her bachelor’s degree in psychology during that time. Sarah started at St. John’s Ministries as seasonal staff and worked part-time for six seasons before accepting the position of Associate Shelter Manager in September of 2023 and then Case Manager in June of 2024.
As a staff, we often say, “When you come to work at St. John’s Ministries, you are not simply filling a position, you are joining a family.” Sarah has found that to be absolutely true. “I am thrilled to be part of a team that loves and supports each other and has the common purpose of helping guests leave better than when they came.”
In her role as Case Manager, Sarah develops relationships with guests and assist them with whatever their needs are at the time, whether it be helping them apply for housing assistance, connecting them with mental health or addiction services, or just being a listening ear while they process through their struggles.
Outside of St. John’s Ministries, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband and four children, attracting critters to their yard with native plants, and assisting with choir directing at her church.
